The Historic New Orleans collection created an app that allows us to morph past and present photos together. By juxtaposing these two photos you can see the differences and changes between them. The original black and white photo, taken in 1955, and the recent photo are similar in many ways, but also have many differences. The most recent photo has a balcony and the stairs have been taken away. Also, some of the architecture and decoration has been altered around the top of the building. By taking these photos I was able to see how much our buildings have stayed the same and has kept some of their historical importance. The preservation of these buildings is what makes our city’s history so interesting.
